Ambassador's Biography

Ambassador S. Babür Girgin officially assumed his duties on 8th October 2013, following his presentation of the Letter of Credence signed by H.E. Abdullah Gül, the President of the Republic of Turkey, to H.E. Mamnoon Hussein, the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

In his previous assignments, Ambassador Girgin has also worked for the development of relations between Turkey and brotherly Pakistan. In this context, he served in the Turkish Foreign Ministry as Deputy Director General for South Asia (2011-2013), as Head of Department for South Asia (2008-2009), as First Secretary in the office of the Deputy Undersecretary responsible for the region (2002-2003) and as Probationary Career Officer in the department covering the same region (1992-1993).

During his previous postings abroad, Ambassador Girgin has served in Russia, Jordan, Belgium, Afghanistan and France in various positions at Turkish missions.
